Making connections: Landscapes using different media
Making connections units offer an opportunity to bring the different elements of art together to create a project piece. This unit focusses on composition and working with a variety of art materials to explore texture. Based on the theme of 'The seaside', the unit can be adapted to other topics.
Unit outcomes
Learners who are secure will be able to:
- Use scissors safely and independently to cut complex shapes.
- Create a seaside scene using shapes.
- Identify different textures in a scene.
- Create different shades.
- Identify and mix colours used in artworks.
- Use a paintbrush to apply colours carefully.
- Use objects and materials to add detail to artwork.
