Differentiation
Learners needing support
Remind children of safety when using various materials, both verbally and visually. Where appropriate, encourage independence but ensure pupils know how to communicate that they would like help before getting frustrated. If appropriate, either support or encourage children to write down all the things they want to do and decide what order to do them in, to plan time and manage expectations.
Learners working at a stretch
Promote taking risks with positive language and encouragement. They should be encouraged to reflect on their progress, jotting notes and ideas in visual journals as they work and improving ideas where appropriate.
