Differentiation
Learners needing support:
Note that some learners are unable to touch different textures. They can recreate colour and texture from your photographs or the pictures on the Activity: Texture hunt pictures. Guide learners to mix colours. Explain that they are experimenting and it does not have to be ‘right’. Encourage pupils to try all the tools to recreate the textures. Display colour and texture vocabulary to guide learners’ descriptions.
Learners working at a stretch:
Ask learners to describe how they mix colours and recreate textures.
Ask:
- Why are they adding more white or more yellow?
- What do you think will happen?
- What texture does this tool make?
- What happens if you add the textures made by different tools?
- How are these textures different to each other?
