Differentiation

Learners needing support:

  • Guide learners to choose suitable materials to represent the features on their map.
  • Guide learners when placing materials on the cardboard base and check that it is similar to their map from Lesson 1.
  • Place learners in mixed-ability groups so a confident learner can help them.


Learners working at a stretch:

  • Encourage learners to use layering and overlapping to create a more complex composition.
  • Learners can independently tear or cut paper shapes.
  • Learners can scratch marks into the surface of wet paint or glue.
