Learners needing support

Could be provided with the panel support images in the Resource: Automata support design sheets to decorate, cut, stick and complete their automata; could use keywords and sentence starters on a whiteboard for them to use at the evaluation stage.

Learners working at a stretch

Should be encouraged to be detailed about how their automata meet the requirements in the design brief and criteria, including improvements and potential solutions; could explain how they could envision their automata being used in a storefront display and how it would be flat-packed.
